In this digital era, we have many motivational books, Ted Talks and Self-improvement books. Similarly, we have Godhead stories from many centuries. These stories not only induce devotion but also have a great inner meaning regarding how to lead a good life. Most of us would have read many stories regarding God. But most pitiable thing is when we are distressed or lack motivation, we search for relief elsewhere. This blog article details three godhead stories which plays a very significant role in everyone’s life.
Krishna and Jarasandha
Lord of the universe, Krishna, after defeating his maternal uncle Kamsa, took over Mathura and releases his imprisoned parents. In this process he angered Jarasandha, who is none other than father-in-law of Kamsa. Jarasandha gets furious on Krishna for killing his brave son -in-law and making his daughters widows.
He attacked Mathura 17 times, even though he never had a chance against the supreme being, his ego and lack of sense due to rage made him constantly attack Matura Kingdom. Fed-up with the attacks, Lord Krishna asks Vishwakarma to build a beautiful city in middle of the sea so that nobody can attack.
Life Lesson:
Even though foes called him coward, Lord prioritized safety of his citizens over his ego. When someone keep on coming for fight, out angry or jealousy, always stay calm and do what is priority and good for you, instead of going for ego.
One may think why the Lord didn’t Kill wrongdoer, Jarasandha. Jarasandha was destined to be killed by Bhimasena, second among the Pandavas. So, Krishna patiently beared his attacks and when it reaches the threshold ,he shifted his kingdom to safe place.
Similarly, one should not take action in haste just because someone is troubling you. Otherwise, one has to face consequences. Always take required action thinking carefully like reporting the matter to higher officials or others who can solve it peacefully instead of violence.
Krishna and Karna
Lord Krishna after birth got separated from his biological parents, was brought up in cowherd clan, didn’t get proper education which every king at that time as to learn to rule the kingdom. Similarly, Karna who got separated from his biological mother after birth was brought up in lower caste community, struggled to get proper education and skill unlike royal clan due to discrimination.
Life Lesson:
Both Lord and Karna were separated from their biological parents after birth. Both didn’t get proper education, Karna learnt from sage Parashurama, an Avatar of Lord Vishnu. Unfortunately, he gets a curse from the sage and will forget his learning when it is most required.
Lord Krishna enjoys his childhood even in the remote village, among cowherd clan. Karna was never happy due to his social status. What we learn from this is that if we give importance to social discrimination like status, looks and others opinion about us, we can never be happy.
Also, never compare yourself with others, like how Karna used to compare himself constantly with Arjuna. Be self content with yourself and try to give your best.
Both suffered misfortune, but Krishna stood on the side of Dhrama whereas Karna stood for Adhrama. Blaming others for your misfortune and lamenting about your sorrows never bring any good. Accept the life as it is, try to make best out of it as much as you can. Important point is Karna is Son of Lord Surya, who is none other than Lord Vishnu himself.
One should understand everything is a play of the Lord , he thought us many important life lessons.
Lord Vamana and Maha Bali
After King Bali take over Indra’s crown to restore Dharma, Lord Vishnu took birth as Lord Vamana. Once he attends the ritual conducted by King Maha Bali. He asks the king for three boons and for this the King agrees. Even though he comes to know it is none other Lord Vishnu who came in the form of small brahmin boy to restore Dharma, Bali sticks on to his words and gives whatever god asks, despite the opposition from his guru for granting the requested boon.
Life Lesson:
Always stick to your words, never go back from your promise whatever it may be. Because it affects your reputation and stains trust on you. So, always think millions times before promising because we are not Maha Bali to give everything. Never do any kind of promise or commitment when you’re in distress or in Joy. Do when you’re in a calm and stable mind.
I hope this blog article of Godhead stories helps the readers in the thought process.
