A day at the VGP Universal Kingdom

Human being always remember the happy moments they spent with loved ones through out their life. One such moment in my life is visit to VGP Universal Kingdom.

The perks of living in Chennai is that, there are numerous places to visit during holidays to hangout along with friends and family. Theme parks, Aqua World, Snow world, Beaches, ancient monuments and many more. Now a days the most happening place is in the category of themes parks is Wonderla.

VGP Universal Kingdom is located in East coast Road(ECR), on the shore of Bay of Bengal. Near to that there is snow world if want to experience snow fall in Chennai then you can visit this place to experience temperature in minus degrees 🙂

Next to that you will find Aqua World. One should experience by themselves where the sea creatures roam freely, a unique experience.

It was amazing experience visiting Aqua world for the first time. Get to see wide varieties of fishes, my most favorite part is moving in the escalator and watching fishes moving around us also here we can touch baby sting ray.

Ticket price per person for adult is 500 rupees where as for the kids based on height. In general for kids 400 rupees. For Camera one need to pay extra money.

VGP Universal Kingdom in week day Open at 11 AM and closes at 7.30 PM. Whereas during weekends opens at 10.30 AM and closes at 8 PM.

My visit to VGP Universal Kingdom

Me and my spouse with lot of excitement took ticket and entered the VGP, took few pictures at the entrance and rushed to our first ride- cup and saucer. It looks like small kids’ ride but we had a fun ride.

You need to just sit in the huge cup along with your partner. It starts slowly, later increase the speed but one will surely have fun riding it.

Columbus ride

Next we went to Columbus ride, I was hesitant in the beginning. After a bit of encouragement from my husband, I tag along with him to the ride. Literally, I was praying when will this ride be over. When the ship moves upward a kind of funny sensation will develop in the body.

Single seater rides

Next, we went on to the single seat rides. I was excited and scared at the same time. But it was fun when the speed increased gradually. I usually close my eyes when the speed suddenly increase, later I gradually open.

Few people were taking photos, others shouting with thrill, I fall in this category of shouting with thrill and fear.

Merry go round / carousel

A childish ride but one of my favorite ride in all theme parks. It won’t be a theme park if there is no horse ride. We had fun and were laughing the entire ride.

In fact, it is the only ride where all age group people can participate. Irrespective of their age, for elderly people and parents there will be a bench in the ride where they can closely monitor their kid seated securely on the horse.

Roll coaster Ride

One of my another favorite ride. Two people has to be seated in the car, one front and another back. I sat in front and my husband sat back side, When the ride started it was slow and good but as it goes up and come down in a speed, your heart will be in your mouth.

A thrilling experience, I started shouting as usually with fear and the thrill. Even though we are secured with iron rod to keep us secure, one will feel kind of fear and excitement at the same time.

Big Ballon ride

A very conformable and fun ride for friends and couples. Two people has to sit and securely close the rod to avoid falling and just relax and enjoy the ride of floating in the air in circular motion.

We were laughing and looking at the surrounding area where people were excitedly standing in queue for their turn, others walking in groups along with friends and family by enjoying themselves.

Swing

It is similar to balloon ride but here we need to sit next to each other where as in Big balloon, we have to sit opposite to each other. Both are fun rides, and you can have a great time. In fact, we took few pictures during ride.

Other rides

Went on few other rides and had lunch at the cafeteria. Also visited the beach which has an amazing view. But unfortunately, we could not spend much time due to scorching heat.We returned back and continued with the small rides.

You wonder what about water sports?. Water sports are also available. Interested people can go and have fun in the water rides.

Things to follow

Be little cautious during ride, follow the guidelines like put the belt or the rod to avoid falling during the ride.

Try to finish all though rides before having lunch as some of them may vomit due to vertigo feeling during ride.

Maintain the premises clean, throw used bottle and other snack wrappers in dust bins kept in the corners.

If you are planning on visiting Theme parks, always wear comfortable and light dresses and carry less luggage.

Bring extra cloths if you are planning for water sports.

Things to see other than rides

Panner Fort which display the ancient architectural work of the Chola Kings. Some enter VGP through this way some after exiting from VGP visit this place and take few pictures.

Besides this, there is a small animal shelter which has ducks and different species of birds, many will be roaming freely. If time permits and you have enough energy, you can visit this place and have fun.

Overall an awesome weekend hangout place along with family and friends. When ever you visit Chennai, if time permits visit this amazing theme park.
