This blog article in Pregnancy diaries is about how to handle negative results, how to see life from a positive perspective rather than ending up being a depressed person. This article is about my personal experience and the way I was able to handle during the tough times.
Like any other normal couple out there we faced multiple disappointments when the pregnancy blood test result came negative. However, we handled it well with patience and developing strong willpower along with regular follow-ups with the doctor.
The best advice would be not to blame yourself or your spouse for the misfortune you face. The blame game is one of the worst mistakes couples do which will add stress to already stressed life. One fight leads to another whereas in a few scenarios couples may get parted. Whoever is facing this situation should handle their frustration and irritability carefully.
Firstly, stop taking advice from others to get conceived, they load with different information which will be quite overwhelming. A common piece of advice which I received frequently from everyone is weight reduction which may not be applicable for everyone, although being fit is good for health.
Eating healthy food is always good for health. To conceive, one need not follow any special diet, eat healthily, and be happy. A goodnight’s sleep is a must. One should sleep a minimum of 6 hours a day for a healthy life. Regular exercises such as normal walking for half an hour is also fine. Finally, try to reduce work-related stress which is not good.
How to handle disappointment in general

Try doing meditation in the morning for at least 10 to 15 minutes to experience peacefulness, regular practice helps you in leading a healthy lifestyle.
Go on a vacation for the upliftment of mood. The place can be chosen based upon your interest.
Don’t spend the weekend at home alone, go on for a small outing which may include shopping or watch a movie, try to spend more time with your spouse to increase the bonding.
Plan romantic dinners as a surprise to your spouse at nice restaurants. If you’re unable to go out due to pandemic, plan for a romantic dinner by preparing their favorite dish and decorating the home with scented candles and soothing music at home.
Always try to listen to your partner’s problems and make them feel at ease instead of judging them. Never blame one other.
Try to spend more time in rebonding your relationship with spouse and reduce office workload as much as possible, this reduces the stress level in daily life.
How I handled

I stopped talking with people except with my spouse and a few days later I became normal. My biggest support at the crisis time was my husband. He never blamed me for anything in fact he encouraged me to be strong and induced some confidence into me.
I was frustrated with doctor follow-ups, medicines, and tests. Finally, I and my husband decided to go on a vacation to a nearby hill station within the state. We both were damn excited as we forgot all our worries and started shopping for important items for the trip.
The trip to Kodaikanal is one of the best trips which we went till date. We returned home happily and shared our stories with family and a few photos on social media platforms. In fact, we forgot about the problem completely. In this way, I handled my first disappointment towards having a baby.
My blessing from God – At last Conceived

After coming from the tour we happily spend a few days and waited for my period. When I missed my menstruation date we did the home pregnancy test. Fortunately, this time Lord heard our prayers and we were blessed with the good news that I am conceived.
We went to the doctor after two days, to confirm officially. A few more tests were performed to confirm the Pregnancy, Doctor advised us to be careful and confirmation of the Pregnancy will be done only after an early pregnancy scan.
