New York, the dreams city for millions of people across the world is an influencer of fashion, food, books and most importantly global finance. A city that never sleeps offers a unique cultural and skyscraper experience. The first sight that hit hard is the busy streets with high altitude buildings inside the clouds, making many tourists feel overwhelmed. New York city is a place where you get food for all prices, ranging from luxurious lounges to affordable street food. Infact, you get cuisines from all over the world.
My trip to New York
My spouse and I decided to celebrate our daughter’s third year birthday in New York. We wanted to make her school joining year memorable to all of us. We made a plan two weeks before, booked hotel and prepared a itinerary for the trip. Even though we live in the neighbouring state, we didn’t drive, we boarded the Amtrak train to reach the dream city.
We started our journey with excitement from Boston; however, a smooth journey turned into adventures due to our toddler. Upon reaching the station in New York, I was so relived my toddler was overwhelmed with first time train journey for four hours. Everyone felt happy after looking at the sight of busy streets with skyscraper forest around you.
It was drizzling when we arrived, we checked into our hotel room, had food, took some rest and recharged ourselves to explore the city.
Brooklyn bridge was the first place we visited. Make sure you come prepared to walk a lot. It took around 2 hours for us to explore this bridge. The view of East River and surrounding places and the skyscraper building in the night is one of its kind of experiences. We wrapped for the day since our toddler was feeling tried.
The next day, we started the day by wishing her “Happy Birthday”. The first place we visited was statue of Liberty in the cruise, went to Ellies island, got a glimpse of the freedom museum,then headed to Statue of Liberty.
After that, we had lunch and started to Intrepid Museum. My daughter enjoyed a lot here, then we went to near by the Vessel. She liked the place, started playing nonstop and we got some good ice creams.
From there we went to the most hyped place in New York “Time square” and the Empire state building. By the time we covered all the places, all three of us were exhausted and we wrapped our trip with lots of memories and smile.
Places to visit in New York
Intrepid Museum
One of the best museums to visit with kids, not only kids’ people of all age groups can have fun. Here, they replicate the life of Navy personnel during their stay on ship.
When we visited this place, we happened to see a huge cruise ship starting from the place. We couldn’t go inside the submarine as my daughter is too small for the entry, rest of the Museum is worth the visit..
American Museum of Natural History
If you are a fan of Night at the Museum movie franchise, then this place is for you. If you have time then this is one of the most visited places with kids, they will enjoy the display animals, aquatic animals, space Museum along with the natural habitats.
Statue of Liberty
The most iconic place in the New York.We started from Liberty state park, New Jersey, and the cruise journey from Liberty state park to Ellis Island from there to Statue of Liberty is one the best moments. Yep, you can guess my daughter was kind of overwhelmed while travelling in cruise. But she adapted to it after having an ice cream at statue of Liberty. She enjoyed the return ride.
Brooklyn bridge
A great place to have a relaxed evening walk with your loved ones, watching the east river while the skyscrapers light up to show the beauty of the city, a delight to watch. Make sure you carry stroller with you while travelling with toddlers. Best time to visit is the evening time.
Tea around Town
It is not a place but great way to have fun, have you ever thought about enjoy the city view in the luxurious bus having tea and snacks. In the tea round town, you can relax and enjoy the city tour by sipping tea and have snacks of your choice.
Note: Bit costly and feels like overpriced. Plan based on your travel budget, but one of the best way to explore.

The Edge and Vessel
Another amazing place to visit would be the vessel, a modern architectural marvel which resembles Honey Comb. Before you visit this place prepare your mind to climb lot of stairs while enjoying the architecture.
The Edge offers incredible view of the place and gives an adrenal rush. If you’re not scared of heights and looking for some adventurous activities, this a best place to visit and immerse yourself in the wonders, it offers.
Little Island
If you’re planning to involve a park in the travel itinerary, then try Little Island which is the best modern architectural park on the Hudson River.Entry is free. If you want to attend any show happening in the little island, then you may need to purchase the ticket. General admission inside the park is free.
Time square and Empire state building
Most hyped place in the world time square, best time to visit is evenings. Make sure you keep an eye on your toddler and your belongings. Not a best option to visit with kids, unless you want to watch a movie in the Board way or a show in the theater. Can visit once to see how the night life of New York will be.
Things to do with toddlers/kids
If you’re planning for a trip to New York with toddlers make sure involve some fun places for kids like Museums, Parks and adventure game place.
Always make sure to carry stroller with you while travelling to New York with toddlers, the trip involves lot of walking.
If you feel carrying a stroller is difficult rent a stroller based on the number of days you need it. Select pick up and drop location. They will drop and pick up the stroller in the given time.
Conclusion
New York city tour was one of the most memorable trip we went till date. Here one can see people rushing to meet the daily needs whereas other side luxurious party. The concrete jungle offers a beautiful architectural marvel and shows the blend of different cultures.
