Once Narada Maharishis one of the favorite devotees of Lord Vishnu desire to know more about the Maya, what is maya I heard about it but never experienced. He decided to visit Lord Krishna in Dwarka. Upon receiving splendidly by Lord Krishna, they both set for a small walk after walking for while Narada Mahrishi ask Lord Krishna what is maya I like to know more about it?
Lord Krishna stops on feet startled and look at Narada Maharishi with smile. Sure, Narada why not before I explain you what Maya is why don’t you fetch a glass of water for me, I am feeling parched.
After hearing Lord Krishna is thirsty, Narada set out to fetch a glass of water for his Lord. Upon walking for many miles in the scorching hot sun. He is extremely tried and thirsty decide to get two glasses of water one for him and another for Lord Krishna.
At last, he happens to see a village. Narada go to a home to ask for two glasses of water. Upon knocking on the door, a beautiful maiden opens door. Narada a great devotee of Lord Vishnu who took eternal celibacy never wavered for anyone. Started experiencing a stranger feeling inside his heart. Upon drinking the water offered to Narada by the maiden he completely forgets about Lord Krishna for whom he needs to take water for that he came there.
Narada’s Marriage
Narada who was spellbound by the beauty of the maiden ask her hand in the marriage to her father, who happen to be village head. Upon seeing the divine aura of the Narada, he agrees for the marriage and give his position as village head. Days turns into years; they were blessed with beautiful children Narada living a pleasant life with his wife and children happily.
However, one fateful day events turn horrific a massive storm swept way the entire village including Narada’s beautiful home. Horrified Narada keeps his children on his head and holds his beautiful wife in one hand to safe them. From the gushing winds and pouring raining.
As the water speed increasing due to heavy down pour unable to hold on to his wife. He leaves her hands, then his kids upon witnessing losing everything In front of his own eye. Unable to do anything Narada cry with grief and cry for lord Krishna from his heart.
Lord appears next to Narada and questions where is my glass of water? what took you so long to fetch me a glass of water? A confused Narada tried to understand what is happening where is the devilish flood. Where is my family, upon realizing; Narada question Lord about how much time he was gone. Lord replies half an hour whereas Narada spent 12 years of life with his wife and kids.
Great devotees were not able to understand and escape the Maya whereas us how can we escape are understand it. Only way is taking refuge at his divine feet and surround to that lotus feet.
