A weekend getaway – The Cape Cod
The best activity in the summer season is playing water sports, if your in the coastal regions, then beach visit is mandatory. The cool water of the Atlantic ocean along with breeze irrespective of the temperature and the playful sight of kids playing on the beach makes ones day. My daughter has this book called ‘Cape cod cannal’ visiting the place made us experience the book. Cape cod is famous for beaches and scenic view, its one of the best picnic places in the Massachusetts.
The best places to visit in Cape cod are:
Sandwich if your into museums and interest in the nice walk along side of the canal waters while enjoying the picturesque place.
Next comes the Province famous for its beautiful beaches with lighthouse view along with amazing market area. If your into history then this place is definitely goes into your visit list, Pilgrims first landed here. Other activities one can do is Whale watching.
Chatham is another places with breathtaking beach view alongside beautiful light house built in the 19th century on the banks of Atlantic ocean. If your into art then this place offers amazing art gallery and some nice restaurants to eat.
Places we visited in the Cape Cod
Cape Cod Canal
Visiting the place took me a minute to realise. We actually came to the place, in the book which we have been reading for my daughter. The breath taking view of the canal water and walkway leading to the beach and the rock wall feels surreal. When we visited it is a peak summer season, when you step outside it feels like your nearing the sun. Even then walking in the walkway at 3 pm in the afternoon made us feel something special the cool breeze and the amazing sight made us forget the heat.
Heritage Museum and gardens
One of the best places to hangout with family, kids will definitely love this place. You can get tickets by reaching their, when your uncertain about your visit time. The beautiful flowers and rare species of plants and trees along with Museum of Vintage cars is a must visit place.
After visiting museum of vintage cars If you walk little down the lane you will come across a cafe and the back of the cafe an amazing Windmill they have.
If your worrying you may get lost in the vast gardens no need to worry, direction boards are placed everywhere along with map in your hand which they give at the entrance to follow.

It was too hot for us to walk in the 12 noon sun we took the electric car ride, the driver is friendly and explained us about each place. He indeed waited for us when my child want to go on Carousel ride. Me and my spouse also went on the ride. We had a wonderful time.
Town neck beach
We have to wait like around half hour to get parking slot, weekend beaches are packed with people if your looking for some lonely time on the beach its better to go on week days. Finally we reached the beach seeing the board walk. When the cool Atlantic waters touch your feet, I felt current shock sensation. The waters are so cold outside it hot and the waters are opposite its cold. We played in waters and started our Journey back home.
Boardwalk
Boardwalk where you walk on the wooden bridge surrounded by the marshland. If your lucky can occasionally see some wild life. Mornings and evenings are the best time to walk on the bridge. Weekends getting parking in the boardwalk is difficult,your lucky you may get parking.
Summing up
One of the best weekend Picnic place if your living in Massachusetts or near by places like Rhode Island. Are you person who enjoys the sandy beaches and light houses and cool breeze which calm down exhausted mind. Then keep Cape cod in your visit list .
