Love in the air Washington DC – Love is a deep emotional attachment that every living being on the earth exhibits. There are different types of love. Parent and child love, Friends love, love between a woman and a man. Among all these, I personally believe love between a woman and a man is more sacred than anything. Because it is the start of creation, without that, no creation exists. Your parents love you because your there child, your siblings love you. After all, your blood related, the only person who loves you for what you are and decided to lead an unknown journey for a lifetime is your life partner.
Our love story started 11 years back in Hyderabad, we were coworkers who fell in love with each other and married. To celebrate the very day after 10 years, we went on a vacation to Washington DC to celebrate our 10 years of marriage.

From Boston to Washington DC it takes around 8 hours by train, whereas by flight, one and a half hours, so we chose flight travel for an easy commute. My daughter, who is overexcited for the trip, started showing restlessness behaviour due to lack of sleep and got over stimulated. However, our saver DD saved the day we gave her favourite snack, which made her calm, and in flight she slept peacefully. We all had a quick power nap during our flight.
Tips while travelling with kids
Always carry headphones and a few of their favorite cartoons or videos downloaded in phone or tablet.
Pok Pok helped me a lot during this trip. My child was busy playing the fun and age-appropriate game.
Along with that, always carry mess-free toys that keep them engaged.
Places we visited in Washington DC
NASA Headquarters

After arriving at the hotel, we had food, relaxed a bit, freshened up, and set off for my dream place. I always dreamt of visiting NASA. Started for NASA after arriving at the destination. I could not believe my eyes; before I even processed, my daughter started running to open the metal doors to enter. So, I am forced to process fast and come in terms with my reality, and I started running behind her like always. The people were very friendly and guided us on where to go and how. After taking a few photos went to the gift shop to buy a memory for a lifetime.

AIR and SPACE Museum

After visiting NASA, we landed in another most-awaited destination, the Air and Space Museum, there we had the best fun of the day. My daughter was bewildered by the sight of rockets and airplanes. The best part of the Museum is the Solar System. One of the best places to visit to gain knowledge and the best hangout place. We ended our day with a tasty ice cream.

National Gallery of ART

While waiting for the cab to return to the hotel, we ended our day on a good note. My child started playing in the grounds of the National Gallery of Art, chasing birds and laughing. I made myself comfortable, sitting on the bench and enjoying the evening weather, the surrounding view, and my child’s play.

Lincoln Memorial

First time seeing it for real is an amazing experience, which I saw in movies. The huge statue of Lincoln in a sitting pose with amazing writings on the walls. The view of the Washington Monument from the Lincoln Memorial is just an astonishing experience.

World War 2 Memorial

The next place we went to watch on the second day of the trip was the World War II Memorial. On the way, we saw Vietnam war memorial as well.

Washington Monument

Stunning viewpoint and huge grounds to play for kids, it is built in honor of the Americas’ First President George Washington, which is 550 foot marable Monument. I was so eager to visit this place and see it for real, as I saw all these places in the Transformers and Night at the Museum Movies.
White House Visitor Centre

We visited to see what it actually looks like, a nice place for curious minds, not for kids. After that, we roamed around in the nearby places and sat on the bench to relax, called it for the day, and went to the hotel, had nice food, and relaxed.

National Natural History Museum

On the third day, we started with the Natural History Museum, one of the best places to hang out with kids and families, an amazing place. This place contains everything, like the animal kingdom, Earth science, Humans, aquatic animals, rare metals, and many more. We try to cover everything we couldn’t. It takes one whole day to see the entire place. My kids’ favorite part of the museum is the butterfly place.

National Capitol

From there we went to the National Capitol, roamed the amazing picturesque place, took a few photos, and roamed in the nearby lake.
Conculsion
One of the best and most memorable trips in our lives. The best time to visit DC is, as suggested, on July 4th, some during cherry blossom season, whereas for me, off-season with fewer crowds, a peaceful time to roam and enjoy the places at peace.
