Chanting or just uttering the divine name “RAMA” with consciousness gives great solace to the soul and body. Lord Rama is not just a king who ruled Ayodhya with righteousness. The creator of the Universe, lord of the Universe, who came to earth to save mother Earth from demons and restore peace, and preach how to lead a life with Dharma. Who is dearly worshipped by Lord Shiva himself. The greatest epic on Earth, Ramayana not just the story of Lord Rama and Sita Devi. It’s a life lesson, even for the cosmic being Lord Narayana, when he takes a human birth. He needs to go through hardship and testing. Even then he sought to restore Dharma and never left the path of righteousness.
Ramayana teaches us many things; one such story is about a sage who is capable of time travel. This story of Kakbhushundi from Ramacharitra Mansa. Multiverse and parallel universe do exist; it is not a myth or vague imaginary science.
Conversation between Garuda and Kakbhushundi
Once Garuda Vehicle of Lord Vishnu asked Kakbhushundi how he got this crow’s head? What is the story behind it? For that, he replied in his previous birth. (Due to divine blessing, he remembers all his pervious lives). He had siblings and parents in that human life. Due to extreme famine conditions, he lost all his family since he was young able to serve it and moved to another region. He was depressed from loosing all his family members, one day while roaming aimlessly he happened visit a Shiva temple in that a Guru ji was teaching spiritual knowledge to people. He sat there and listen to it and later that Guru ji who felt sad after listening to his story made him as his disciple.
Due to his charisma and communication skills, he was able to attract people while teaching spiritual knowledge to them, which he carried after his Guru when he was away from the temple. He received numerous compliments for his teaching skills. Over a period of time he developed ego he is equal and greater than his guru. One day, his guru returned to the temple everyone stood upon seeing his arrival, whereas he did not care. His ego was so high. This act of his angered Lord Shiva himself temple Deity. He cursed him to take a thousand Life’s as a lower being (insects and reptiles). After his Guru requested forgiveness, the Lord granted him a boon that he would not forget his learned knowledge and became a devotee of Lord Rama.
After taking numerous births as lower beings (insects and bacteria), he finally takes a human birth. One day, he happens to visit Sage Lomas’ spiritual teaching about Nirguna and Sadguna Brahma. He was not pleased with what the sage was explaining about the appearance of God and got into an argument with the sage. This angered the sage and cursed him that he would be born as a crow in the next life.
Kakbhushundi visiting Ayodhya
In the next life, he is born as a crow, where he is born to a divine swan and the Kaangchand. In this life, due to the divine power he accrued, he was able to visit Ayodhya whenever Lord Rama took birth. He stayed there for five years to experience the rare and divine form of child Rama. Once during his visit, Lord rama as a child, started chasing the Crow with a playful laugh. Upon looking at that, he got a doubt, is he really lord Vishnu himself? To test him, he rose to a great height in the sky. Lord Rama’s fingers are just mere inches away from him. He went to Brahma Loka. Before he realizes what’s happening, he is surrounded by children’s laughter in the Ayodhya courtyard.
He saw the entire world, multiple universes, and different worlds in which he himself was there, and mountains, oceans, planets in the playful Rama. After releasing the truth, he prostrated before Rama, and the Lord blessed him with an immortal boon.
Immortal Kakbhushundi
He is the only sage who is able to witness Ramayana 11 times to date; he has the capabilities to go back in time and witness the Ramayana. Where does he stay if he can travel multiple universes and into the present, past and future? He stays in the Mahameru mountain, on the Kalpa Vriksha tree, in the meditative state observed in the pranayam and divine knowledge.
Conclusion
To enjoy the fruit of the success of spiritual attainment, one has to go through immense hardship. One can witness the divine design and wonders of universes only through true divine knowledge.
